Hello there! I'm Chef Lucero. My earliest culinary adventures were born out of necessity, often revolving around a simple question: "What can I creatively mix and eat with canned tuna?" This resourcefulness became my foundation. When I left home as a teenager, armed with nothing more than a can opener, I crafted a surprisingly repeatable meal plan. As I continued to experiment and hone my skills, my palate and ambition began to be truly challenged. Soon after, a genuine love blossomed within me – the joy of creating dishes that left people with a smile.
My Story
This resourcefulness became my foundation, and you'd be surprised at what you can make, even with limited access to fresh vegetables and a reliance on preserved goods. Moving from country to country when I was little, with no say in what 'made it' to my plate, unexpectedly opened me up to a fascinating world of textures, spices, and subtle essences. I was happy to experiment on myself, a willing guinea pig eager to taste the diverse flavors I could conjure. This ongoing trek across continents has profoundly shaped who I am in the kitchen today. From the vibrant markets of North and South America to the diverse tables of Europe, I was exposed to a dietary variety often defined by regional limitations and the distinct cultural practices of sharing food within familial settings.
